First Basketball Practice 2018-19

Carrie sent me a pic to let me know Shane's first basketball practice had begun!

Carrie's in charge of basketball this year again. It starts at 5 PM, so I don't have time to leave wrestling and pick him up and get him there in time. Instead, I show up after wrestling and see what's going on.

I took my own pictures once I got there. Shane's definitely taller than last year!

He's super goofy and distracted in line, but his dribbling looks a lot better. He can actually dribble left-handed somewhat. He's far from a star, but it's improvement.

Carrie ended up on several business type calls while we sat on the sidelines, talked, and watched.

We were talking and I didn't notice Shane's inaugural jammed finger.  They were doing passes and I looked back and Shane was on his knees doubled over. I thought he'd been hit in the balls.

We let the coaches handle it. They noticed, came over, and took him to the side.

They talked for a little, but the head coach (?) left to lead practice and Shane continued to sit out. Carrie made her way over after a little and Shane went back out to finish practice afterward.

We went out for pizza slices afterward per tradition. We changed it up a little bit and went to Wegmans instead of Ledo's, though. It was cheaper and Carrie could stock up on veggies instead of a slice.

All in all, a good first practice.
