The First Saturday of Break!

It rained all day Friday, but staying inside all day is too much to ask. Shane met Dylan and Eli at the park at 11:30 AM for a play date after Taekwando.

John and I took the kids for a walk on the paved trail (less mud). I don't know why Shane decided to call out a cadence and marching orders, but the boys thought it was a good idea and joined in.

The water level of the river by Riverview Park was high and flowing quickly. This amused the boys greatly. It caused John and I to watch closely that no one fell in.

We walked the half mile loop and then stopped to play in the park. Shane and Eli are both big climbers. Dylan not so much.

Dylan really wanted to play Minecraft with Shane. After a long playground time, John let them hop in his car to play Minecraft on the tablet. Then we packed up Eli and drove to John's dad's house for the boys to keep playing.

At the house, Eli was reluctant to give up John's phone, but eventually Shane was on the phone and Dylan was on the tablet. They played Minecraft together while Eli played with toys and crawled on John from time to time. John cooked up some leftover pizza and we talked and hung out while the kids were played.

Shane and I packed out and left at 3:00 PM. The plan was to drive to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner and the next several days.

Carrie, however, wanted to wait for the mail (including a missing package) and had some work tasks pop up that she needed to attend to. We pushed back our departure a couple of times until we called off leaving entirely. We spent the night with electronics and decided to leave on Sunday instead.
