Another Full Sunday

Sundays normally start slow around here, but keep rolling once they get going.

I took Shane to the 9:30 AM service at the point and then took him straight to Henry's for a play-date after.

Someone left up a creative round bale which made a turn much easier to spot!

Henry was working on his treehouse and new zip line out front when we arrived. The boys ran off to look at the new gator and I knocked on the door to let Molly know Shane was about.

I saw the boys and Erik driving up as I left. Henry was in the driver's seat.

When I drove back later, everyone was still outside! I heard they went inside for PBJ's, but otherwise had been out and about.

Shane was a speed demon on the zip line barreling down at full speed. His legs were the only thing stopping him from bouncing off the tree at the bottom headfirst!

Henry was more cautious and used a glove as a brake behind the zip line. He was a little annoyed with his parents, because they'd taken the gator key until he "played nicely." It sounded like he'd been bossy and only wanted to work on the treehouse.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it's sometimes nice to see that my kid isn't the only snert in the world. Henry is normally a saint when he's at our house, and I guess Shane decides to behave his best when he's at theirs!

Henry was a bit dramatic about it and said he wished he had better parents. I replied that it looked like he had things pretty good with a tree house, zip line, PBJ's, and a gator to drive around in.

I wish I could say that Carrie and I had a completely relaxing break while Shane was away. We rested some, but there were chores and cleaning to do.

It was busy, busy when Shane and I pulled up.

Heidi was saddling up Eddie for an afternoon ride.

Wendell had shown up to take care of some odds and ends.

And Grandpa and Grandma had come for a visit! Grandma talked to Wendell and checked in with Heidi while Shane showed Grandpa Sim City on the Super Nintendo (which died.....R.I.P. SNES).

Grandpa showed Shane the Pixar short, "Jack Jack Attack" on his phone and Shane was laughing about it for days.

Where was Carrie throughout all of this? Riding!

Carrie hopped on Sam Friday and then again today. These are the first two times she's ridden on our property! Sam is a chunky monkey, so she plans on cutting back on his feed some and whipping him into shape. Hopefully, her knee will hold up through the process.

When everyone came in, Grandma and Grandpa started to hang some pictures they brought. Most went into their room, but one cave-painting from their France trip they had a print of made it to the dining room.

They brought the big picture of Nibs and Mira Carrie had commissioned after Mira's death that we need to find a place for, too.

We all went out for dinner and played some Uno at the table. From there, we said our goodbyes. Carrie and I came home to do horse chores in the dark. Then Shane hopped on TV and we hopped online to say hi to the guild at 8 PM before calling it a night.
