The Poop Monster

Tuesday morning found poop scattered across the house. There have been random dingleberries before. The theory was Bucket panics whenever something clings, but there was never any solid proof.

Tuesday afternoon, Bucket went nuts in broad daylight. Shane, Grandma, and I all watched. The cat door heralded her wild run as she bolted out of the laundry room. She made a circle through the dining room and entry hall with claws skittering into the living room, over the couch, and into the kitchen before careening back down the hallway.

Poop trailed behind her and not all of it was easy to pick-up nuggets. Each little spot carried enough odor to fill a room.

I even found poop behind the washer and dryer.

It happened again at 4 AM. Carrie woke up. I woke up. I'm shocked Shane and Grandma didn't wake up, as well! Bucket decked the halls with trails of turds. She must have skidded out and drifted around a corner at full speed, because she decorated the hallway wall! It was at knee height!

It was a rough night. I was part-zombie the next morning.

Carrie took Bucket in to see the vet while I was at work.

The vet said she had a bacterial build up probably due to stress (aka Loki and Shane).

Carrie relocated Bucket to her own private bathroom complete with litter, food, and water.

Bucket stayed in her room for a couple of days while taking some pills to help return her system to normal. Eventually (after solid poop returned), Carrie and Grandma opened up the doors, so that Bucket could go into the bedroom if she wanted.

Several days later, Bucket's roaming free and we're back to her normal. She's sleeping at Carrie's feet on the couch as I write this.
