Loki's Box

Loki developed a taste for cardboard. It's plentiful in our house. It's fine until I have to fish a small strip out of his mouth I don't want him to swallow.

After a Costco run, Loki developed an affinity with a specific box. I thought hopping in boxes was a cat thing!

I guess he chews on it while he's in it, so there's still a lot of dog in Loki's actions.

I turned the box around against the wall. Loki couldn't figure out how to jump out and barked at me instead (I guess this is proof of where Shane gets "it" from).

We've left the box inside ever since. There have been nights Loki has laid down in it and nights Loki has waken up Carrie by trying to dig his way out of the bottom of it!

Carrie eventually moved the box into Loki's pen. Loki is not as fond of the crate in our bedroom. He starts to bark and whine the moment he hears us stir, so we've started letting him sleep in his round pen at night.

Shane made the next addition. He flipped the box and stuck Loki's bed in it to make it a 'box cave.'

I don't know if Loki prefers it this way or not, but he'll definitely sleep under it!

The constant gnawing will eventually kill the box. I'm going to keep my eyes open every time we go to Costco in the future for Loki Box 2.0. Maybe I'll let Shane use a knife to cut out windows......some duct tape could add a back porch....
