As I was about to write this, I typed "Busy" in the search bar of the blog.
I've used the word a lot!
Most of it was a bunch of fun times, though. I scrolled through for a while and smiled before I refined my search.
"Life is busy" was the new investigation. I sorted by date.
I wanted to see the last time I posted a post saying, "Wow, I'm busy," but not with a bunch of pictures.
Why?
Because that's the sort of post I'm about to write.
I'm about a week behind and needed to backfill a post for today, but was drawing a blank on anything specific. I don't seem to have any pictures to jog my memory either. I have felt busy and drafted a mental breakdown on what I'm typically up to in my head and decided to use it.
Then I ditched it and went on a tangent with the blog search....which I'm getting right back to now.
I found what I was looking for in an April of 2018 post. I thought I had posted something over the summer, so I switched my search to "backlog," and found a post in November of 2018. (There was another short post in January 2019, but that didn't count because it included "I'm actually playing video games again to fill some time!")
It was longer ago than I expected, so now I don't feel bad about writing, "Man, I'm busy."
Man, I'm busy.
A typical day here starts between 6:30 and 7 AM. The animals rise with the sun (which includes human ones). My day starts with taking the dog out for his morning reprieve. Then on weekdays it's getting ready for school and, if I'm up early enough, horse chores. From there it's off to work. I typically arrive a little after 8 AM and stay busy all day until around 4 PM.
I used to be able to move a little slower during the day and consider things, but wrestling starts at 4:10 PM now. I have to pack up, cross the school, get dressed, and get in the room. Right now, the team is very small and there are multiple coaches, so I'm not the busiest in the room. There's a different vibe from my old team and since I'm new man I'm hanging back and observing more rather than taking charge.
I leave wrestling practice early around 5:25 PM. That gives me time to get dressed, leave, and pick up Shane. When Shane and I get home around 6 PM, it's time for even barn chores. Carrie and I double-team those. We come back to the house to make and eat dinner and things are normally settling down around 7 PM.
Shane is supposed to keep an eye on the animals and read while we're at the barn. He's pretty good about doing it, but it's hard to confirm. He's normally on the couch reading a Dogman or the like when I get back to the house and Loki hasn't been missing a leg or tail yet!
From 7 PM to 7:30 or 8 PM (later when I have my way), the electronics are off. When the electronics go on, everyone is mentally done for the night. Shane normally hops on the TV and does his thing. Carrie could be on her phone or on the computer doing something with me. I've had to use some nights for grading and taking care of planning that I can't do during the school day. What I haven't been doing is keeping up with the blog.Sometimes, I've managed to load a few dishes or two, but I normally let those wait until the weekend.
There's always something more to do, but I don't feel bad letting it go. I've normally had a productive day and feel good about not being a lazy bum.
