When we clean, we host. We had visitors inbound for Easter.
But first we had to take care of business.
Laura and Amy took the holiday off, so we had to do horse chores.
Shane and I went to the small, local church for Easter instead of The Point.
They're good people and they're close. Shane doesn't like having to sit through an actual service, but he likes being seen!
Once we got home, Carrie said, "Make the front porch look nice! Quick!"
So we did.
We had a little time afterward to come home and rest (and not mess anything up!).
Grandma came bearing food!
We had an Easter lunch as a family!
The animals would have liked to participate.
Or to at least keep their chairs!
I put something historical on TV after lunch. Grandpa and I sat down to watch and the flashing lights lured Shane over. I'm sure Carrie and Grandma were talking shop and taking care of some work or technical issues.
It wasn't a long visit. Probably a little less than three hours later we helped Grandma and Grandpa pack out.
Loki acted like he was worn out from the visit. Was watching us scramble to clean was that draining?
We got to see my side of the family Saturday and then Carrie's side of the family Sunday. That's the way I like to spend big holidays: With family! I wish Monday was a holiday to recover from all the festivities, but, alas, it is not. It was back into the fray. Happy Easter everyone!
