Shane was up bright and early, but not early enough to get in trouble with Nana.
He knows the rules and routines for her house!
Everything was ready for the kids to have an Easter egg hunt.
Ka brought her kids over and then it was go time!
The kids ran to their respective rooms and got hunting!
I know I hid Shane's eggs. I might have hid Evie's, as well, but I'm not sure.
I have a ton of fun memories hunting eggs, as a kid.
Nana's always been talented at making holiday's feel special. I'm nowhere near as good at it.
I think the boys hid Tenley's eggs, but it could've been Pop.
Nana made sure yesterday that there was parity in the prizes hidden in the eggs to prevent any fighting (because kids!).
Indy watched when she wasn't hiding with Dot. There was a lot of hoopla and running going on!
Kathleen's blessed to live so close to Nana and Pop. She's been working full time using her Bio-medical/Chemical Engineering degree. She was telling us about the project she's a manager on making a bioreactor for monoclonal antibodies from Chinese hamster ovarian cells for a Korean company (hopefully, I said all that right!).
The twins have always been wicked smart and good at school. That's why they got out of it and I went back for Round 2 (aka teaching!).
Cole was the last one to find all of his eggs. Then there was an opening (and eating candy) party!
Tenley and Evie are happy to tackle and poke at their big brother.
Really, Evie is happy to poke at anyone. It looked like she enjoyed picking and picking until she provoked a big enough reaction. That inevitably led to her being upset.
I found her taking a break from the other kids in the closet. I tried to be funny, but she wasn't in the mood for my antics.
Cole is on record for preferring cash/coins in his eggs over candy (which Shane proclaimed multiple times).
The kids settled back onto their electronics after the hyper egg finding fest.
Which gave the adults time to get some eggs ready for decorating.
Ka handled the eggs.
We used to soak them in dyes.
Nowadays, it's easier to use markers and stickers.
Nana had a whole kit ready to go.
Everyone got involved (Nana made sure of it!).
Shane and I couldn't stay all day, though.
We got some group pictures...
...and said our goodbyes before getting on the road.
Six hours later, we came home to a Carrie in progress.
She was in cleaning mode!
That couldn't only mean one thing: Visitors!
Shane grabbed Happy cat and tried to hide on the couch. He didn't want to clean! He wanted to mourn leaving paradiseland with family!
Meanwhile, a horse wandered through the garden. Again.
Our Easter season will continue in a later post!
