Sunday was Drive-Day. Pop wanted the couple of weeks before Beach Week to be kid free to plan and pack, so it was now or never if Shane wanted another week down south!
Of course, he'd snuggled in with a pair of cats and didn't want to get up right as it was time to go.
I'm okay with taking the hate for making cats move and being a professional bad guy, though.
I drove a little further south than usual to facilitate the timing so that Shane could go to Club45 at their church.
Besides, they played tons of games. Does this look like a child who's having an awful time?
Shane got delivered south, he got to go to worship, and he got not one, but TWO fast food meals (He'd said, "WENDY'S!?" with such wonder as I hit the drive through for lunch and I found out Pop stopped by Arby's on the way home. Can we say spoiled? Ha!)
Unfortunately, we haven't plugged into a group of kids lately at a local church. I found out the hard way way past the deadline our old church in Cville wanted people to sign up by Tuesday if they were bringing kids for Sunday School. They probably would've taken us anyway if we'd shown up, but I dislike knowingly ignoring rules/requests. As things open up more, we'll need to get plugged back in. The small, local church is nice, but Shane needs to be around more kids his age. I definitely want him involved in a youth program by the time he's in middle school.
So Shane is in SC. Will it be for one week or two? We're playing it by ear. Nana's birthday is on Saturday and she's already got fun plans for throughout the week.
