Kathleen's Crew Drives Through!

Shane and I went to the pool early on Thursday. Carrie wanted a break early in anticipation of noise: Kathleen's crew was driving through! Shane and I rushed home from the pool when Ka texted us they were near.

It was their first time at the barn. Ka said it felt familiar, because of all the blog pictures!

Loki was just as excited as everyone else (He doesn't know what a blog is, but he likes people!).

Kathleen, Stu, and crew were on their way north. After seeing us, they planned to stop by at Jama's before continuing to Stu's parents' house in Maryland. They were on their way to Michigan for a camp.

Cole and Stu quickly noticed Shane's rules to earn electronics.

Did I ever post those? If not, here there are.

These were the rules Carrie enforced during virtual school.

Cole wasn't buying any of Stu's ideas about a similar list.

Shane gave all the kids a tour of the house.

The cats were a big initial draw.

The felines were pretty chill about it for the most part. Shane dragged Happy out of hiding for everyone to see, but she ran for the bathroom when Carrie yelled at Shane to let her go.

Happy hid behind the toilet and surprised some later bathroom goers!

The horses were the other big set of animals to see.

But they were outside and it was hot. Stu and Cole checked out my games, while Shane set up the phones so that he and Cole could be friends on Pokemon Go.

Loki followed the girls around everywhere.

Especially Tenley.

We did go out to see the horses, eventually.

Carrie and Kathleen led the charge. Stu came next with the girls and Loki.

The boys dragged behind (Shane gave a different tour speech than Carrie. There were more Pokemon involved.).

Carrie brought everyone to see Maddy and Lilly.

There was a delay in pointing out the fence was electric, but nobody got shocked!

It was short lived. Have I mentioned it was hot?

The kids were interested, but not interested enough to stay in the barn overlong. Nobody asked about a pony ride that I heard.

Shane did take the opportunity to show off Loki's jumping some.

The crowd wasn't as into it as he hoped. They were all ready for air-conditioning!

It wasn't a long stay: A little over an hour.

The girls played with Loki while Shane and Cole brought out Pokemon Go. I made sure Cole got back Splatoon 2 from Shane.

The cats chilled.

The adults talked while they could.

Kathleen got double teamed by her girls. They wanted to drag her away to play elsewhere!

Unfortunately, everyone had to get back on the road to keep to their timetable.

It'd be nice if everyone was close enough visits were easier.

Shane wanted to hop in the van and drive off with everyone! I almost made a comment that, "He did enjoy talking to Stu's dad...," but didn't want to inflate Shane's hopes.

Maybe Cole will come stay with us sometime. Shane warned him that "You have to eat whatever Mom cooks," so he may be wary!

It was wonderful to see everyone. They moved on and I heard they had safe travels.
