Post-Church Patrick!

I wanted to beat traffic leaving church, but Shane was too proud of his creation. He was the 2nd to last kid to leave.

Which was worth getting stuck for a couple cycles of a red light.

We went to Wawa for an early lunch. When I went to make my coffee, Shane ran off to grab a Gatorade. He walked up to me with a $2.89 jug there was no way he could finish.

"No way," I said. "Get a smaller one."

"There are no smaller ones!"

"You can't spend more than $2 on a drink. Pick something else."

Would you know Shane picked a quart of chocolate milk?

It was $1.79.

"There's no way you'll drink all that!" I said. There was a pint for $1.29, so I suggested that.

"This is only $0.50 more!" Shane replied.

Shane got the quart. He drank more than a pint, too.

Long story short, he met my parameters. I figured he'd learn a lesson or he'd surprise me with what he could drink. He surprised me.

There's still a chunk that'll get thrown away. We put it in the fridge at Patrick's, but Shane was too full to drink any more on the way home.

Wait....Patrick? Where's he come into all this? (Other than the title?)

Patrick and Shelby accidentally left their InstaPot at the beach. I took it home since I live the closest to them.

The lid came off while I drove and the whole car smelled like tacos.

Sadly, the timing of our visit was bad. We arrived at noon, but Patrick and Shelby were going to look at a house at 1 PM. Originally, they were going to leave at 2 PM, but the time table moved up.

Which meant Shane had to get as much play time in with Giles as he could.

Giles kept Shane entertained almost the whole time! It let me chat with Pat some.

Shane really wanted to see Giles run in his wheel and it finally happened.

Shane also knocked the wheel over and it took Patrick's reflexes to save the day!

When he wasn't played with Giles, Shane asked Patrick a bajillion questions about Minecraft Mods.

Or getting a lesson in how to use a lighter.

Shane picked up Patrick's lighter at one point thinking it was a laser pointer for the cat. He dropped it the moment he realized what it was. Shane even stepped back with his hands up like he'd been caught with contraband ("It's not mine! I swear!").

I didn't want Shane to react in fear to a simple tool, so I said, "Want to know how it works?" Patrick helped out since it was his.

"Can I light something on fire?" Shane asked.

That was the obvious downside of teaching him. Hopefully, he never puts his new knowledge to nefarious purposes.

It was a shorter visit than I'd have liked, but you take what you can. Shane and I hit up Costco on the way home to be efficient with our time.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing at home (as Sundays should be spent!).
