Made Up Words

Shane's creative with vocabulary. If he doesn't know a word to communicate exactly what he wants, he'll make up something to fit the bill (and often add sound effects).

At the beach, the boys kept calling out "chungus" waves.

It was easy to figure out what that meant. I don't know if it started with chunky and through in humongous for extra effect or what.

But that might have come from online. There's a meme and Shane knows how to use the internet.

A pure Shane invention is the "Gopher Hole."

A "Gopher Hole" is a fancy name for dunking someone. Shane explains it as swimming between someone's legs and then standing up like they're going to sit on your shoulders. Only you tip them over so they splash behind you.

I've heard Shane explain this multiple times. Shane's not shy or quiet when brings it up either.

I tried not to laugh out loud and simultaneously bury my head the time Shane swam up to some teenage girls and asked if they wanted to go "Gopher Holing."

Shane's tried to sell many people on "Gopher Hole" as a legit term since.
